Evie Webster wanted to spend the morning reading in her treehouse, but even the best laid plans rarely work out, especially when a bleeding centaur arrives in need of stitching. For 500 years Raphas, healers of mythological creatures, have been murdered strictly for being what they are. To her surprise, Evie is one of them. Broken plans are the least of Evie's worries as she is bombarded by mythological creatures in need of healing. To fulfill her purpose, Evie and her newly healed friends must brave the Vaults, a heavily guarded facility that houses the inheritances of all mythological creatures. Can Evie find the courage to brave the depths? To do what it takes no matter how much it changes her? Or will she become lost in the darkness?
