In Search Of The Heroes: Harriet Tubman, Susan B Anthony, And Helen Keller DVD 3-Pack

By: In Search of Heroes

The stories of these great women are told through the eyes of present day youth, mysteriously transported to the time that they made history. One is a boy who had little sympathy for others different than himself. Another is a young man who has lost his dream, and finally a young woman who has come to believe that her life is a lost cause.

These three DVDs tell these historical stories in a way that will teach and entertain children of all ages. They are able to provide lessons in perserverance, dealing with disabilities, and to continue dreaming, no matter what.

CAUTION: This Emmy award winning In Search of the Heroes DVD series is intended for mature high school students and adults, and includes scenes which depict real life situations about peer pressure, bigotry, drug and alcohol usage, and mild violence. This is done solely for dramatic effect in order to help teach students positive character values through the lives of both modern day teenagers and heroes of the past. The series stars NEST Advisory Board member Dr. Reg Grant, Professor of Pastoral Studies at the Dallas Theological Seminary and is produced by Greg Vaughn, the Founder and President of the "Letters from Dad" ministry.

Susan B. Anthony struggled for 50 years to help women gain the right to vote. They believed that the "Champion of Lost Causes" had failed when she died.

After a lifetime of slavery, Harriet Tubman had been beaten, abused, humiliated, and never attended school. She never learned how to read and write, though that would not stop her from charging onward to seek freedom.

Helen Keller, often called "The Eighth Wonder of the World," was able to become one of the true heroes of our world from an undisciplined child. This amazing transformation took place, despite her being deaf and blind for nineteen months.

All the DVDs include a Teacher's Guide and Student Handbook.
