About three years ago, my husband saw some of your (animated DVDs) at our son's Children's Church. Since we don't allow our children to watch what is on TV, we are always on the lookout for good material. We were very excited to find out about your series on the New Testament. However, when we found out about cost (especially exchanging Canadian funds into American dollars), we felt we would wait until we had a real 'excess' of money. Well, our excess was always used up by something else that seemed more important, because, after all, Bible cartoons are a luxury not a necessity right? Then we discovered our daughter Daniella, at age one, had a 'receptive/expressive' language learning disorder. She had great difficulty learning abstract concepts (who, what, big, little, me, you, etc...). Although she is now 4 1/2 years old, now she functions - depending on the activity at a 1 1/2 to a 2 1/2-year-old level. One night a few months ago, I couldn't sleep and turned the TV on and saw your infomercial. My heart leapt. I had almost forgotten about those cartoons. The character design and animation are so beautiful, so well done, and an activity Bible study book, too! It suddenly dawned on us that since Daniella was learning her scriptures so well with a visual aid, why couldn't she learn the whole story with this visual? We tried audiotapes, but they meant nothing to her at this age. When my husband and I discussed again about getting The Animated Stories from the New Testament, we still struggled with the cost and came to this conclusion. She's learning. Usually, you retain 75% of what you hear and see, and what's more important than teaching your children about Jesus? If those DVDs will help her, we now felt that we couldn't afford not to get them! So we simply sacrificed something else in our lives so we could afford the (animated DVDs)." And now, Daniella is able to understand the 'still' pictures in her bible better than she ever did before and even the verbal explanations as well. Thank you for having DVDs about JESUS and the fact that there are no "alien" characters in the stories that constantly need to be explained away. We like how these stories generate so many questions about the bible from our seven year old son. They cause us to explain more and more each time he sees them and as a result he has a better understanding of the moral lessons. Even though there were some problems with some of the DVDs we received, you treated us with such kindness and generosity, you bent over backwards to assist us. Certainly not the kind of treatment one receives every day. We are very grateful. Please put us on the list to receive the newest N.T. DVDs when they are released.

In the summer of 1992, I examined many different DVDs on the New Testament that were produced for youth. Our Region 3 library at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. was my resource center. After many viewings, I felt Animated Stories from the New Testament was by far the superior DVD series. The following are reasons for choosing this series. One, there was very little narration, which allowed the viewer to become immersed in the story. Two, the music and picture quality are superb. Three, the workbooks and coloring books are tremendous follow-ups to reinforce what was on DVD. This allows the viewer to learn by using more of their senses, along with a physical response to enhance the learning process. Four, the workbooks are intergenerational. They are, in fact, usable for people of all ages. Five, there is an honest parallel to scripture and thus becomes an extension of scripture. It helps scripture proclaim Christ. Six, I am very particular with regards to what slant of theology is behind a teaching aid, and the program seems to be very unbiased. This is my second year using this DVD series. I use it for both Sunday School and School Religious Release.
